Information

The Franklin Community High School Instrumental Music Department and Franklin Community Schools Band Booster Organization are able to provide numerous opportunities to our students that we believe improve their musical education and experience. For our program to provide these opportunities to all our students the band booster organization charges a nominal fee. This is referred to as the General Fee.

 

The General Fee is assessed one time a year to any student who participates in a curricular or extra-curricular, high school Instrumental Music Department ensemble – Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Marching Band/Color Guard, Indoor Drum Line, and Winter Guard. The General Fee is used to help cover operational costs of the Instrumental Music Department and band booster organization.

 

The General Fee helps to cover some expenses such as state music association membership fees – Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA), Indiana Bandmaster Association (IBA), etc., class awards (varsity letters, chevrons, etc.), insurance policies, treasurer fees, accounting/tax preparation, office management software – Charms Office Assistant, website hosting, post office box rental and postage, etc.

 

Fees for specific ensembles such as the Marching Band/Color Guard, Indoor Drum Line, and Winter Guard are NOT included in the General Fee and are assessed separately. The General Fee does not cover any corporation fee such as course or textbook fees, school instrumental rental fees, or transportation fees.

 

The General Fee for the 2020--2021 academic year is $75.

 

Checks should be made payable to Franklin Community Schools Band Boosters and can either be mailed directly to band booster organization or turned in to the band office. Fees are also payable online through PayPal. The band booster organization account is FCHS.IN.BAND@GMAIL.COM. Additional information on making payments through PayPal can be found HERE. Payment plans are also available and can be arranged by contacting the band booster treasurer. (e-mail the band booster treasurer)

 

The band booster organization organizes numerous fundraisers to help students earn money for their various fees. Students who have funds available in their individual student account may use it towards the General Fee, school instrument rental fees, and/or corporation transportation fees.
